The Rock ‘N Roll Birthday Bash

We, that’s my husband and I, deliberately themed our triplets’ first birthday bash without any specific reason, except that I just received The Beatles’ tees for triplets and the idea popped out of it. Plus, it’s been one helluva rocknroll year, full of laughters, tears, happiness and sorrow all came at once. So it’s time to celebrate a little.

Here’s the birthday invitation. We didn’t invite so many people as we wanted it to be intimate with closest families and friends.

It took me a couple of months to prepare everything although almost all of those things were done last minute. Thanks to the printing house I found on Instagram that kept on postponing to the very end. However, Instagram did a huge favor on the preparation. Between work and three babies to take care, I could easily manage all the small things in just a click away.

The souvenirs took most of my time with excrutiating details to deal with from cooking the caramel popcorn, sticking the labels to tins and jars, to cutting and adjusting the stickers. I swear I’m not that kind of person who’s talented at small details. Meanwhile, the OCD part of me kept telling me to do it perfectly. In the end, I learned nothing is perfect in this world, including parenting. I could never be a perfect mother to my kids no matter how much I try, but I’d surely give my best no matter what. Wow the lesson I learned from sticking labels to tins that look pretty much like this:

Having been inspired by so many dessert corner pictures on the internet, I created my own which looks like this:

The rocknroll cake made by a home bakery I found on Instagram. I sent her the drawing of what kind of cake I wanted, and she made the cake almost exactly how I pictured it to be, except much better.

And the birthday triplets seemed to like it as well!

At first, the girls didn’t seem to feel comfortable around the guests. But it only took a while, the ice broken once they played and laughed with just about anyone.
